So when I first got into college, my plan was to keep living with my parents through school and then wait until I got a job so that I could put a down payment on a house of my own, because rent prices are insane in Saskatoon right now. It seems though, that I'm in for a change of plans. A good friend of mine came to me a few days ago with a preposition: he wants to get six people together by next summer to pool money into purchasing, not renting, an acreage outside of the city. Now, at first this seems like a stupid and expensive idea, but being out of the city limits actually leads to cheaper living, due to lower prices on utilities. That and with six people, we could get a big place. This also means, however, that I will have to buy myself a car as well, so that I will be able to get in and out of the city.

I first thought that my parents would be completely opposed to the idea, but when I told them, they were ready to start helping me plan my finances for the next year so that I can pull this off. Here's hoping!
